The initial energy walkthrough involves our team of experts conducting site inspections to build a holistic view of our customers’ energy systems and operations – from energy sourcing to the release of ready product at the end. 

A thorough understanding of the solutions and processes in place allows us to present our customers with a “menu” of options that will help them achieve three main goals:

Decarbonization

We create a road map that allows the company to reduce its greenhouse emissions and achieve carbon neutrality.

Cost saving

We demonstrate how cost savings can be achieved through the deployment of new solutions, such energy recovery systems, proper control, regulation and through efficiencies brought about by changes to the production processes and improvements to onsite powerplants like high temperature heat pumps to use the recovered heat.   

Energy flexibility and security 

We ensure businesses do not become dependent on any single fuel source – and their future energy provision is more secure. This approach often involves the deployment of multi-fuel boilers that can be powered by biomass, alcohol, and hydrogen, among other sources of fuel. 

During the concept design phase, we work with our customers to select the most promising of the options for a more detailed evaluation. With the support of DB Energy, we then build the business case. This involves a feasibility study evaluating several factors including deployment in the physical environment, potential impact on core processes, time to implementation, and the expected payback period.

The final step is to provide the company with an ESCO option. Companies can finance the energy transformation with CAPEX investment but, when rapid transformation is required, the preferred option could be an EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) contract, under an ESCO (energy saving company) model.  This ESCO arrangement is a prefinanced option offered by EFESO and DB Energy and requires no upfront investment by the company.

Companies rarely have an in-house team with the experience to initiate an energy transformation project at short notice. But we and DB Energy have been supporting businesses in this domain for 15 years. We possess the necessary business process and engineering expertise to both advise on and deliver rapid energy optimization projects.

Through our ESCO approach, companies can also see operational energy savings within their first year, without any CAPEX investment being necessary.
